Royals Vs. Tigers: Game 1 Rained Out, Rescheduled For Sept. 24

The first game in a three-game set between the Royals and Tigers has been rained out in Detroit. There was steady rain in the area all day and there were no signs of it going away. The teams will play the game on Monday, Sept. 24 at 7:05 p.m. ET. It was a mutual off-day for both teams.

It is the second rainout in three days for the Royals, who had a game at Minnesota on April 28 postponed and rescheduled for later in the season.

The pitching matchups in the series will be a little different than originally planned. Kansas City will stick with Luke Hochevar, pushing him back a day to pitch on Tuesday. The Tigers were set to give left-hander Duane Below his first start of the season, but will instead skip over him. Rick Porcello is scheduled to make the start for Detroit on Tuesday. Jonathan Sanchez will go against Justin Verlander on Wednesday.
