The Los Angeles Angels faced off against the Kansas City Royals on Friday night as their season opener and home debut for their new prized acquisition Albert Pujols. With a 5-0 defeat, the Royals struggled to score against opening day starter Jered Weaver and will now prepare to face Dan Haren on Saturday afternoon. For the second straight season the Royals have fell to the Angels and are now 1-4 against the Angels on Opening Day.
The Royals will make one switch in the lineup as Humberto Quintero will start at catcher for Brayan Pena on Saturday. Quintero will catch right-handed hurler Luke Hochevar. Here are the starting lineups for both teams.
