AL Central Standings: Royals Back 5.5 Games In Mediocre Division

As poorly as the Royals have played through the first month of the season, they are rather lucky. Kansas City is still somehow only 5.5 games back of the first place Cleveland Indians -- yes, Cleveland -- even after losing 12 consecutive games. Since then, they've started to get back on track but the season record still stands at a miserable 6-15 record. The good news is that the leader is only 11-9.

Without a dominant team thus far, the Royals are within striking distance of first place with a short hot streak and as the weather heats up, so should the bats. Here's the current look at the AL Central standings:

AL Central Standings

W L PCT GB STRK
Cleveland 11 9 .550 0 Won 1
Chicago 11 11 .500 1 Won 1
Detroit 11 11 .500 1 Lost 1
Kansas City 6 15 .285 5.5 Lost 1
Minnesota 6 15 .285 5.5 Won 1
