Royals Add Greg Holland From DL, Option Nathan Adcock to Omaha

Greg Holland is returning to the bullpen for the Kansas City Royals, back from the 15-day disabled list after the Royals have optioned long reliever Nathan Adcock back to AAA Omaha.

Holland, who started the Northwest Arkansas no-hitter on Thursday evening, got off to a brutal start this season with the big league club, before going to the DL. In seven appearances, he was 0-2 with a 11.37 ERA in 6.1 innings. The lone positive was the 10 strikeouts he had during that time.

Holland was one of the top performers in the bullpen last season, making 46 appearances with a 5-1 record and 1.80 ERA.

Adcock, who came over to Kansas City in the Rule V draft prior to the 2011 season, appeared in three games and had a 2.89 ERA in three games. He had turned into a starter at AAA Omaha, where he made four starts and had a 3-1 record with a 1.37 ERA prior to his call-up.

Holland will be available for Saturday evening's game against the White Sox.
