Luke Hochevar will take the hill Thursday afternoon for a Kansas City team hoping to avoid the hangover of a late, extra-inning loss to the Orioles on Wednesday night. Hochevar is coming off his best start of the season against the White Sox last week, a seven-inning, three-hit outing. He'll look to lower his 7.20 ERA.
Second year first baseman Eric Hosmer is still mired in a slump, hitting .174 this season. Against Baltimore on Wednesday, Hosmer was 0-for-7. Last year Hosmer hit .293, the second-best average for an AL rookie.
