The Royals had a bad past week by going losing four of their past five games after going on a four game winning streak, so basically the Royals balanced out with a 4-4 record after their past eight games. Going on a 4-4 stretch is an improvement for the Royals after their abismal start to the season where they lost 12 in a row.

So, at the quarter point of the 2012 MLB season the Royals are sitting in fourth place in the American League Central and are 6.5 games behind the division leading Cleveland Indians.
