Royals Vs. Indians Final Score: Kansas City Loses Memorial Day Game, 8-5

The Kansas City Royals couldn't hold up against the Cleveland Indians on Monday and were defeated by a score of 8-5. The eight runs scored by the Tribe were brought in by Jose Lopez's three RBIs and the pair of runs Jason Kipnis drove in.

Eric Hosmer hit a two-run blast in the second inning to lead the way for the Royals. Catcher Brayan Pena also homered for the Royals in the fifth inning. Center fielder Jarrod Dyson tripled in that inning, then scored on an error and shortstop Alicides Escobar had the other RBI in the seventh.

Kipnis had a two-run single in a five-run third inning off Nathan Adcock (0-3) as the first-place Indians maintained a half-game lead in the AL Central over the Chicago White Sox, who they just lost three in a row to at Chicago over the weekend.
