Royals Vs. Red Sox Score Update: Kansas City Leads Boston 4-3 After Five Innings

The Kansas City Royals and Boston Red Sox have played five innings and so far the Royals are leading the Red Sox at home by a score of 4-3.

KC took an early 1-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning when Billy Butler scored on a fielding error by Marlon Byrd. The Royals wold then add two more runs to their lead on Brayan Pena double that brought in Jeff Francoeur and Johnny Giavotella.

But Boston would later tie things up at 3-3 in the top of the third inning on an Adrian Gonzalez double that brought in Byrd, Ryan Sweeney and Dustin Pedroia.

But Kansas City would retake the lead in the bottom of the fourth inning on an Alcides Escobar double that brought in Irving Falu.
