Kansas City will try to avoid a sweep and avoid a four-game losing streak in the process on Sunday when they close out their series with the Pittsburgh Pirates at PNC Park. Kansas City dropped a 4-2 decision to Pirates on Friday and then lost 5-3 on Saturday.
Bruce Chen will take his turn on the mound and will try to continue his recent surge since struggling out of the gate. Chen is 5-5 on the season with a 4.37 ERA but is 5-1 with a 3.79 since May 6th. He allowed four hits in seven innings against the Minnesota Twins last time out.
The Pirates will counter with former New York Yankees' right hander A.J. Burnett who is 5-2 with a 3.76 ERA this season. Burnett has been really good at home posting a 3-0 record with a 1.02 ERA in five starts.
