Royals Vs. Cardinals Final Score: Kansas City Edges Out St. Louis, 3-2

The Kansas City Royals had a strong pitching performance by Vin Mazzaro who pitched six shutout innings to help the Royals to a 3-2 win over the St. Louis Cardinals. The Royals offense got to Cardinals starting pitcher Kyle Lohse by scoring a pair of runs in the second and third innings, and then another run in the seventh inning.

The Royals had a 3-0 lead and it was nearly blown by Roman Colon who gave up a pair of runs in only 2/3 of an inning to make it a 3-2 game. Jose Mijares came into relief for Colon and did not allow any more runs to close out the inning.

Aaron Crow and Jonathan Broxton closed out the game for the Royals over the final two innings for the win. Broxton pitched the ninth and earned his 16th save of the season.
