Kansas City Royals Vs. St. Louis Cardinals: Game Time, TV Schedule, Preview And More

Kansas City's defacto ace Bruce Chen takes the mound on Saturday afternoon, as the Kansas City Royals look to win their second straight game over the defending World Series champion St. Louis Cardinals.

The Royals won Friday night's contest over St. Louis 3-2 in dramatic fashion. With two outs in the ninth inning, Tyler Greene stole second base, and took third base since the attempted throw to catch Greene stealing sailed into centerfield. The throw to try to gun down Greene at third base was overthrown too, and Greene attempted to score -- but was thrown out, ending the game.

Chen will look to even up his record on the season on Saturday, as he comes into the outing with a 5-6 record to go along with a 1.23 WHIP.

Chen will be opposed by rookie Joe Kelly, who will be making his second major league start. Kelly did not factor into the decision in his first start, when he pitched five innings, scattering seven hits and a walk, and giving up only one run.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:15 p.m. CT. Televised coverage can be found on FOX Sports Kansas City and FOX Sports Midwest.
