Royals Vs. Cardinals Final Score: Matt Holliday, Yadier Molina Combined For 9 RBIs To Defeat Kansas City, 10-7

St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Matt Holliday and catcher Yadier Molina combined for nine RBIs in the their 10-7 win over the Kansas City Royals. Holliday went 4-for-5 including a home run and five RBIs; while Molina also hit a home run while going 2-for-4 with four RBIs.

The Cardinals got to Royals starter Bruce Chen early as he only lasted 1.2 innings and in that time he allowed six runs, seven hits and a pair of home runs before getting pulled for Nate Adcock. By the time Chen was out the Royals trailed 6-2, but they crawled back in the game and took a 7-6 lead heading into the bottom of the seventh inning.

The Cardinals came back to score three runs in the bottom of the seventh when Holliday hit a RBI single and Molina contributed the other run on a RBI single.

The Royals were unable to get back in the game as the Cardinals brought in Mitchell Boggs and Jason Motte who gave up no runs and allowed only two hits over the final two innings.
