Royals Vs. Cardinals Final Score: Kansas City Drops Series Finale 11-8

The Kansas City Royals suffer a three game sweep to their interstate rivals with a 11-8 loss on Sunday. Both starters Jonathan Sanchez and Lance Lynn were knocked around in the game but it was the Cardinals that got the better of the Royals bullpen late.

Victor Marte picks up the win for the Cardinals after Lance Lynn struggled to his worst start of the season. Lynn allowed nine hits and six runs in 5 1/3 innings but takes home a no decision. Kansas City's Tim Collins takes the loss after giving up three hits and five runs in an 1 2/3 innings of relief. Starter Jonathan Sanchez wasn't any better giving up six runs and four hits in 5 2/3 innings. Sanchez walked six batters while striking out only three.

The loss overshadows a big day offensively for third baseman Mike Moustakas who went 3 for 5 with two homers and three RBIs. Billy Butler and Jeff Francouer also homered in the loss. Carlos Beltran drove in three runs while Allen Craig had two hits for the Cardinals.

Kansas City out hit St. Louis 14-8 on Sunday but walked nine Cardinals batters in the game.
