Everett Teaford will make only his second start of the season on Wednesday in the series finale between the Royals and Tampa Rays, and his first since April 27 against the Twins. Kansas City manager Ned Yost likes the lefty matchup against Tampa, make Teaford the only option. Teaford was roughed up in that outing against Minnesota - four innings, four runs, eight hits - but is 4-0 with a 1.09 ERA at Triple-A Omaha this season.
With the afternoon start, heat will be a factor, as temperatures in Kansas City are expected to hit the triple digits on Wednesday.
