Royals Vs. Athletics Final Score: Vin Mazzaro Shuts Down Oakland In 2-0 Win

Former Oakland right hander Vin Mazzaro came back to haunt the A's throwing six shutout innings in a 2-0 Kansas City win. Mazzaro allowed four hits and struck out three hits. He combined with three other Royals' relievers on the shutout.

Eric Hosmer gave the Royals the only run they would need in the second with a solo home run to centerfield. Kansas City added an insurance run in the fifth on a Johnny Giavotella RBI single in the fifth.

Billy Butler went 3 for 4 for the Royals while Hosmer finished with two hits including his seventh home run of the season. Collin Cowgill and Josh Reddick had two hits each for Oakland.

Tommy Milone is the tough luck loser allowing eight hits and two runs in seven innings of work. Kansas City's Jonathan Broxton picked up his 13th save of the season after working a scoreless ninth.
