2012 MLB Home Run Derby Ratings: Those K.C. Fans Not Booing Robinson Cano In Person Were Doing So At Home

Prince Fielder's lastest home run derby trophy and the ire of hometown Kansas City fans towards A.L. team captain Robinson Cano was strong enough to push Tuesday night's... "exhibition" (of batting practice, we suppose) to better overall ratings than 2011, according to ESPN:

What's notable here is that despite decades of irrelevance in the sport, Kansas City baseball fans have shown great enhtusiasm for the All-Star Week of events, both in attendance and at home on the TV. Most impressive of all is that K.C. led all markets,despite Cano denying the world a Billy Butler "dinger" or ten, making children across Missouri and Kansas cry themselves to sleep.
