Former Kansas City Royal Melky Cabrera gave local fans a bitter reminder of what they had during Tuesday night's 2012 MLB All-Star Game, as the former K.C. favorite went 2-for-3 with a home run and two RBI in the N.L's 8-0 walloping of the A.L. Cabrera's single in the first inning was part of a barrage of hits off of starter Justin Verlander that gave the N.L. a four run lead they never looked back from.
Cabrera was a beast for the Royals in 2011 - hitting 305/.339/.470 with 18 homers, 87 RBI, 44 doubles, 20 steals and 201 hits, but was traded to the Giants for left-handed pitcher Jonathan Sánchez and minor league pitcher Ryan Verdugo.
