Royals Vs. White Sox Final Score: Chris Sale Out Duels Luis Mendoza 2-1

The Kansas City Royals drop two of three to the Chicago White Sox as they lose on Sunday by a score of 2-1. The Royals got a solid performance from starter Luis Mendoza who once again didn't get very much support from his offensive teammates.

Mendoza gave up a run in each of the first and second innings including a first inning homerun by Adam Dunn. He settled down from there pitching 7 1/3 innings while allowing just four hits. Chris Sale picks up his 11th win of the season going eight innings and scattering 10 hits and allowing one run. Addison Reed picked up his 14th save of the season with a scoreless ninth.

Four different Royals had at least two hits including Alex Gordon and Lorenzo Cain. Kansas City however was just 2 for 12 with runners in scoring position, hit into two double-plays and left eight men on base.
