The Kansas City Royals came up short against the Toronto Blue Jays on Wednesday at Rigers Centre by a final score of 4-1.
Offense was very hard to come by for Kansas City as Mike Moustakas, Jeff Francouer and Alicdes Escobar each had two hits in the ball game but Francouer drove in the Royals only run, a triple in the top of the seventh that scored Moustakas.
Luis Mendoza got the start and was also credited with the loss as he pitched six complete innings and gave up nine hits and three earned runs. Mendoza did strike out nine batters in the game. The Royals gave up 12 hits to the Blue Jays on Wednesday.
The fourth and final game in the series will be played on Thursday with first pitch coming at 6:07 p.m., EST.
