For any scouts on hand trying to check out Zack Greinke in what could be one of his final starts with the Milwaukee Brewers, it was a frustrating afternoon. The reason is that the assignment lasted all of four pitches. That's how long it took for the former Cy Young Award winner to get tossed from today's game against the Houston Astros.
As Rotoworld details, "Greinke spiked the ball in the dirt after Jose Altuve was called safe in a bang-bang play at first base. Greinke was obviously frustrated over the call, as was Brewers manager Ron Roenicke who was also tossed from the game, but first base umpire Sam Holbrook gave them an incredibly quick boot."
Livan Hernandez came in to replace Greinke in the game for the Brewers, but the damage was already done early and the team remains down 4-0 to Wandy Rodriguez and the Astros.
