Royals Vs. Tigers Final Score: Kansas City Limps Into Break With 7-1 Loss

The Kansas City Royals suffered their third straight loss to the Detroit Tigers on Sunday falling 7-1. Kansas City managed just five hits and their lone run came off of a solo home run by Salvador Perez.

Everett Teaford takes the loss after allowing seven hits and five runs in 4 1/3 innings. Teaford allowed a second inning home run to Johnny Peralta and a solo shot to Delmon Young in the fourth. Prince Fielder added a two-run blast in the fifth off of reliever Tim Collins.

Max Scherzer earns his eighth win of the season allowing five hits and one run over seven innings of work. No Kansas City player had more than one hit and Alex Gordon's double was the only extra base hit other than Perez's homer.
