2012 MLB Futures Game: Attendance Was Over 40,000

The festivities for the 2012 MLB All-Star game got underway Sunday afternoon with the Futures Game which featured all of the top minor leaguers. The teams were split up with a United States roster taking on players from the rest of the World.

The fans were treated to a high scoring game as the United States team easily defeated the World squad 17-5, and Team USA had a nine-run sixth inning that was the difference in the game.

The Futures Game at Kauffman Stadium as one of the best attended in resent history.

The attendance may have been due to the Kansas City Royals having four of their minor league prospects in the Futures All-Star Game.
