Tigers Vs. Royals Score: Bruce Chen Pitching A Gem Through 6

Kansas City holds the edge in the low-scoring affair unfolding at Kauffman Stadium, as the Royals lead the Detroit Tigers 1-0 after six complete innings in Kansas City.

Royals pitcher Bruce Chen has given up just three hits to the Tigers in his start tonight. Chen has struck out three and walked just one on a low pitch total of 73 pitches.

The lone Royals run came in the bottom of the fourth inning, sparked by third baseman Mike Moustakas. Moustakas hit his 27th double of the year, advanced to third on a ground-out, then scored on an Eric Hosmer infield single.

Chen looks to even his season record at 10-10 if the Royals can keep the lead, while a Royals win would mark a series win in the three-game set with Detroit.

Alcides Escobar is 2-3 on the night for the Royals. Tigers center fielder Austin Jackson holds two of Detroit's three hits.
