Royals Vs. Rangers Final Score: Kansas City Comes Up Short Against Texas, Lose 5-3

The seventh inning was the difference in Friday night's 5-3 loss for the Kansas City Royals to the Texas Rangers. Heading into the seventh inning the Rangers were leading 2-1, but first baseman Mitch Moreland hit a three-run home run off of relief pitcher Jose Mijares. That home run gave the Rangers a 4-1 lead and it was a deficit that the Royals could not over come.

The Royals made an effort to get back in this game as they scored one run in the bottom half of the seventh inning when Alcides Escobar singled to center to knock in Alex Gordon. The final run for the Royals came in the eighth inning when Yuniesky Betancourt hit a RBI double to left field which made it a 5-3 the game, but that is the last run the Royals would get.

In the bottom of the ninth inning the Royals were shut down by Rangers reliever Alexi Ogando who pitched a perfect inning and struck out two.
