The offense for the Royals was held in check against Rangers starting pitcher Scott Feldman who pitched just over seven innings, allowed six hits and only two runs. As for the Royals, their starting pitcher Will Smith was beat up early by the Rangers as he allowed four runs in 5.2 innings.
The two runs that the Royals scored came in the fifth inning when Chris Getz and Alex Gordon hit ground out RBI's, but that is the only offense that they had all night. The Royals had chances to score more runs as they were a paltry 1-for-9 with players in scoring position. From the sixth inning on the Royals only had one player even be in scoring position.
