Kansas City Shooting Leaves 1 Dead Near Arrowhead, Kauffman Stadiums

A woman has been critically injured and one man is dead after a shooting near Kauffman and Arrowhead Stadiums.

A shooting in the parking lot between Arrowhead and Kauffman Stadiums on Friday has left one woman wounded and the shooter dead, according to the Kansas City Star. Officers came to the scene at 3:23 p.m. CT to discover that the shooter had taken his own life after firing at the woman.

The woman, who is an employee of the parking lot, was taken to the hospital in critical condition. Police said the two parties knew each other. Witnesses on scene observed that the shooter turned the gun on himself in his car after shooting the parking lot employee.

The Royals stated they were "deeply saddened" by the shooting, which occurred just hours before Kansas City's home game against the Los Angeles Angels on Friday.
