Royals Vs. Tigers Series Preview: Game Time, TV Schedule And More

The Royals head to Detroit for a four-game series starting on Monday against the Tigers.

The Kansas City Royals head to Detroit for a four-game series against the Tigers at Comerica Park on Monday, coming off four wins in their past six games and a series win over the Cleveland Indians.

The Tigers, meanwhile, lost both games on Sunday in a doubleheader against the Minnesota Twins. Detroit is still within striking distance of the final A.L wild card spot, six games behind the Oakland A's, and time is running out for Detoir to have a legitimate shot of catching up.

Probable pitchers for the three-game series:

Sept. 24: RHP Luke Hochevar (8-14, 5.40) takes on RHP Justin Verlander (15-8, 2.74) on Monday. First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. CT, with online coverage via MLB.tv.

Sept. 25: LHP Bruce Chen (11-12, 5.22) faces RHP Anibal Sanchez (3-6, 4.55) on Tuesday. First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. CT, with coverage on Fox Sports Kansas City.

Sept. 26: RHP Jeremy Guthrie (4-3, 3.00) takes the mound against RHP Rick Porcello (9-12, 4.57) on Wednesday. First pitch is set for 6:05 p.m. CT, with coverage on Fox Sports Kansas City.
