The Kansas City Royals (71-87) take the field on Sunday coming off a draining 7-6 win in 14 innings over the Cleveland Indians (66-92) on Saturday night, and needing two wins in the final four games of their season to prevent a fourth straight 90-loss campaign. Kansas City has lost at least 90 games in seven of the past eight years.
Luke Hochevar (8-15, 5.43 ERA) will take the hill for the Royals. The right-hander has lost his last two starts and is 1-6 with a 6.31 ERA in his last nine. Hochevar is 2-1 with a 6.61 ERA against Cleveland this season.
Zach McAllister (5-8, 4.25 ERA) will be on the mound for the Indians. McAllister has also struggled of late, going 0-5 with a 5.75 ERA in his last eight starts.
First pitch from Progressive Field is scheduled for 12:05 p.m. CT. This is the final road game of the season for Kansas City.
