Royals Vs. White Sox: Jeremy Guthrie Looks To Win Career-High 5th Straight Start

The Royals (62-77) and red-hot starter Jeremy Guthrie look to take their weekend series from the White Sox (75-63) when Chicago hosts Kansas City on Sunday afternoon.

Guthrie (7-12, 5.34 ERA) is looking to win his career-high fifth straight start. In his last six starts, Guthrie is 4-0 with a 2.04 ERA. In his last appearance against the White Sox on Aug. 8, the right-hander pitched eight scoreless innings in a 2-1 Kansas City victory.

Hector Santiago (3-1, 3.71 ERA) will be on the mound for the White Sox, making just his second big league start. Santiago allowed three hits and three walks in five innings of work on Monday against the Twins.

First pitch is scheduled for 1:10 p.m. CT from U.S. Cellular Field in Chicago.
