The 1-5 Kansas Jayhawks have fallen behind 17-0 to the heavily favored and No. 9 Oklahoma Sooners early in the second quarter in Norman.
Oklahoma quarterback Landry Jones has had his way with Kansas through the air, completing 10-of-12 passes for 145 yards and a score. Five different Sooners have caught passes, with wide receiver Kenny Stills' 64 yards leading the way.
Oklahoma opened the scoring on a 37-yard field goal by Michael Hunnicutt early with 8:08 left in the first quarter. Minutes later, the Sooners struck again, with Jones hitting Stills for a 44-yard touchdown. The long score finished off an 87-yard drive that took only four plays and 58 seconds off the clock. The Sooners added another touchdown early in the second quarter to go up 17-0.
Kansas actually controlled the ball for a majority of the first quarter, holding the ball for over 10 minutes. However, despite having some success on the ground, the Jayhawks were not able to put any points on the scoreboard.
