With three straight losses, the Kansas Jayhawks are 24.5-point underdogs against No. 7 Kansas State on Saturday, but Charlie Weis went to Twitter to complain about the lack of support from Kansas's student newspaper:
Team slammed by our own school newspaper. Amazing! No problem with opponents paper or local media. You deserve what you get! But, not home!— Coach Charlie Weis (@CoachWeisKansas) October 4, 2012
The presumable offense was an illustration on the cover of The University Daily Kansas that featured a very large and muscular Wildcat holding a goal post that had a small, helmet-wearing Jayhawk clinging on. Next to the illustration was the headline, "Road Kill Ahead" with the sub-headline that reads "Weekend holds a bad beating for Kansas or calamity for K-State."
In their last game, the Jayhawks lost to Northern Illinois 30-23 while the K-State Wildcats improved to 4-0 with a 24-19 victory over the Oklahoma Sooners.
