Kansas vs. Texas Tech score update: Jayhawks try to hang on against Red Raiders

Jayhawks keep it close as the second quarter comes to an end down by four.

The Kansas Jayhawks are putting up a fight against the 22nd-ranked Texas Tech Red Raiders as the two Big 12 teams head into halftime with the Red Raiders leading, 21-17, in Lubbock.

The Red Raiders scored twice in the first few three minutes of the second quarter on touchdown passes from quarterback Seth Doege to Tyson Williams and Darrin Moore. Moore's touchdown made it 21-7.

But the Jayhawks answered with a 10-yard touchdown pass from Michael Cummings to Brandon Bourbon that cut the Red Raiders' lead down to seven. A late field goal brought the Jayhawks even closer.

Both offenses have been one-dimensional in the first half. Kansas is leaning heavily on its running game with 177 of its 190 first half yards coming on the ground. Meanwhile, the Red Raiders have leaned almost solely on their passing attack with 236 of their 239 first half yards coming through the air.

The Jayhawks are still looking for their first Big 12 win of the season and just their second win overall.
