Despite running back James Sims already rushing for 108 yards on 13 carries, the Kansas Jayhawks trail the Baylor Bears, 20-14, at halftime of a Big 12 Conference football game at Floyd Casey Stadium.
The Bears (3-4, 0-4 Big 12) have used a pair of passing touchdowns from quarterback Nick Florence and field goals from kicker Aaron Jones to take a six-point lead into the locker room.
Florence completed both his touchdown passes in the first quarter. The first was a 11-yarder to Terrance Williams while the second was a big 68-yard catch-and-run to Lache Seastrunk.
Jones nailed field goals from 35 and 22 yards out, the last capped the first half's scoring with 1:02 to remaining in the second quarter.
Kansas' two scores came on a 59-yard rush from Sims, who scored in the first quarter, and a 22-yard rush by Michael Cummings, who cut Baylor's lead to 17-14 with 5:46 to go in the second quarter.
The Jayhawks (1-7, 0-5) will receive the ball to start the second half.
