Hoping to end their dismal campaign on a high note, the Kansas Jayhawks will make the trek to Morgantown this weekend for a Big 12 season finale against the West Virginia Mountaineers.
Kansas has yet to win a conference game this season, and has now dropped 20 consecutive Big 12 games dating all the way back to Nov. 13 of 2010. One player who will be desperate to turn the tide in his final game as a college quarterback will be senior Dayne Crist, who passed for 156 yards and one touchdown in the Jayhawks' most recent game against Iowa State. Though Crist recently lost time under center to talented freshman Mike Cummings, his gutsy performance in the loss to the Cyclones likely assures him one final start before graduation.
Already assured of a bowl bid after taking down Iowa State over the weekend to grab their sixth win, the Mountaineers feature one of the most potent offenses in the nation with star quarterback Geno Smith at the helm. Despite not being viewed as a Heisman contender like he once was, the 6'3 senior has already racked up 3,597 passing yards and 39 total touchdowns this season after just 11 games.
