Late Night At The Phog: Here Comes Kansas Basketball

Kansas' basketball showcase kicks off tonight at 7:30 p.m. Friday night at Allen Fieldhouse.

Late Night at the Phog figures to be a significant night for the future of Kansas as they bring in top recruits to show them what basketball in Lawrence means.

"It’s fun for us and fun for the fans," senior Brady Morningstar added. "I’d say Late Night is joy after Boot Camp and joy because the season is finally here, but, joy, ‘Geez we’ve got 31⁄2-, 4-hour practices coming now."

Late Night at the Phog is a fun night. The next day, Saturday, is when practices start. That's not so fun.

Kansas coach Bill Self calls this Late Night one of the biggest recruiting nights he's ever had at Kansas.

Here are the recruits that will make the visit (via Topeka Capital Journal):

KU's list includes St. Louis guard Ben McLemore, rated the No. 17 player in the 2011 class by Rivals.com; small forward LeBryan Nash, the No. 4 player in the 2011 class; and small forward Julius Randle, the No. 3 player in the 2013 class and a teammate of KU commit Zach Peters.

Big night for Kansas. They're No. 2 in the preseason Big 12 polls behind Kansas State.
