Colorado Buffaloes Cruising Against Kansas Jayhawks, 21-3

The Colorado Buffaloes are looking to notch their first victory over a Big 12 team on Saturday against the Kansas Jayhawks. The Jayhawks are also looking for their first win but that may not be coming today. The Buffs lead the Jayhawks, 21-3, in the first half.

Kansas's defense just doesn't have an answer for Colorado. QB Cody Hawkins is looking very good completing 15-of-17 passes for 176 yards and two TD passes to WR Paul Richardson. There was a poll on KUSports.com before the game asking if Hawkins would start if he played for KU. I think we have the answer to that. RB Rodney Stewart has added 55 yards and a touchdown. Colorado has moved the ball down the field with ease against KU.

"It's at the point when Turner Gill just has to bring this team together," Bob Davis said on the broadcast. He's right. KU is down big and they need to toughen up here and say to themselves they will not be blown out again. I can understand a KU loss here. I can't understand a blowout, even with third string QB Quinn Mecham in there.

Kansas can't do much offensively either. Mecham is 5-of-7 for 40 yards. Kansas's run game has produced just 32 yards on nine carries.

It's only the second quarter but Kansas is getting worked over.
