College Basketball Scores: Nearly A State Of Kansas Shutout But Jayhawks Cruise

The No. 3 Kansas Jayhawks were able to pull away from the USC Trojans on the heels of a Josh Selby three-pointer with 26 seconds left in the freshman's college basketball debut. The game was hyped beyond any normal game at Allen Fieldhouse as Selby, Rivals' No. 1 player in the country, made his long awaited KU basketball debut. Selby's debut wasn't the only thing KU had to cheer about as they walked out of Allen Fieldhouse with a very close 70-68 victory over USC.

That was the good news in the state of Kansas and college basketball on Saturday. The bad news....

The No. 6 Kansas State Wildcats were upset by the Florida Gators, 57-44, in the Orange Blowl Classic in Florida on Saturday afternoon. For all the joy KU felt after beating USC, K-State felt an equal amount of frustration en route to their lowest scoring output in the Frank Martin era. Kansas State's game just shut off halfway through the first half and they couldn't do anything.

When you have two top six ranked teams in the country, it's a big day when they both play. Luckily for the Jayhawks, folks are partying in Lawrence tonight. In Manhattan? They're probably being miserable together.
