UCLA Bruins Vs. Kansas Jayhawks: Winners And Losers From KU's Victory

The Kansas Jayhawks were able to fend off the UCLA Bruins on Thursday night at Allen Fieldhouse, partly due in part to a controversial foul call that ended the game. Bill Self says KU was "fortunate" to win and Ben Howland said it was a "poor way to end the game on that call." So the winner for Kansas in this game might be luck because it seems like KU got a little lucky at the end. Nevertheless, a win is a win.

SB Nation's Rock Chalk Talk takes a look at the winners and losers from last night.

Big winners on the night for Kansas; Tyrel Reed for finding his shot , Brady Morningstar for reminding us why he plays, role players stepping up(Tyshawn Taylor) and the team as a whole for surviving another stiff test.  Losers; Interior defense, rebounding, Morris foul trouble, free throw shooting and failing to match the intensity of your opponent from the outset.

Tyrel Reed was fun to watch last night, especially early in the game when he really got going. Rock Chalk Talk makes a good point about the role players stepping up because the Morris twins had four and five fouls in the game. They needed the role players.
