Right when I thought the Kansas Jayhawks were going to lose, they go out and play their best basketball of the season. KU basketball had been in a slump lately -- even though they're undefeated -- needing overtime to beat Michigan and winning their first two Big 12 conference games by a combined eight points.
With KU struggling and Baylor being a strong team, I thought Kansas would drop this one on the road. I was wrong. Really wrong.
Kansas topped Baylor, 75-59, in Waco, Texas. It was Kansas' first hal that really got things going as they outscored Baylor by 21 points. Several Kansas players said it was the best first half they've played all year.
Entering the game, KU should have been worried about Perry Jones III, a 7-foot freshman that Bill Self called one of, if not the best prospect in the country. Jones had nothing on the Morris twins who dominated the game. Marcus had 25 points on 10-of-14 shooting while Markieff shot an incredible 9-of-10 for 19 points and nine boards.
Jones III had 20 points while LaceDarius Dunn added 13 as he struggled shooting just 3-of-9.
Kansas simply looked unstoppable against Baylor. I'm not saying Kansas can go undefeated -- the season is wayyy to long for that -- but when they're on, they're the best team in the country.
Kansas, 18-0, hosts Texas this weekend.
