Texas Snaps Kansas' 69 Game Home Court Winning Streak In Lawrence.

Kansas started out Saturday’s contest against Texas right where they left off against Baylor on Monday. After the opening minutes the Jayhawk lead sat at 18-3 before the Longhorns were finally able to settle in to any sort of a rhythm.

The first half was about defense for Kansas as they held the Longhorns to just 30% shooting from the field and Kansas held a 35-23 halftime lead. Of course the Longhorns aren’t the #11 team in the nation for nothing and unfortunately for Kansas, consistency one again proved to be a struggle.

Texas battled back into the game in the second half as the contest turned decidedly more physical. The Longhorns were paced by forward Jordan Hamilton and guard J’Covan Brown taking their first lead with 10 minutes to go in the game.

From that point on it was all Texas until late. The Jayhawks offense went ice cold and Kansas couldn’t find any way to get into a rhythm offensively. Texas extended their lead to 10 before Kansas would make a late rally but come up short.

Texas snaps the Jayhawks 69 home court winning streak and takes early control in the Big 12 conference title race. Kansas now finds itself playing catchup if they want a shot at securing a seventh straight Big 12 conference championship.
