Big 12 Football Schedule, Week 9: Baylor Vs. Oklahoma State Could Be Sleeper Match-Up

It's another great week of games in the Big 12 with one major clash and several interesting games on tap. As for Kansas at Texas, well, here's to the Turner Gill era. With several ranked teams in play hoping for some success when the BCS standings come out, there's plenty to play for. Some should be shootouts, some defenses will come up big, but nearly all of it should be entertaining. Here's today's slate:

Missouri @ Texas A&M - 11am CT
Missouri comes in at 3-4 and this game has major bowl implications for the Tigers. They're 1-3 in conference play and another loss could signal a very disappointing season for Gary Pinkel. Not only that, but another dud of a performance in the cap of James Franklin could signal a possible quarterback change. As for A&M, the Big 12 leader in sacks should scare Franklin enough to win today.

Baylor @ Oklahoma State - 2:30pm CT
If any team is going to be able to take down the OSU Cowboys, it's going to be one that can match them point for point, because it's clear that no one is going to be able to stop Brandon Weeden, Justin Blackmon and company. That said, Baylor's Robert Griffin III is a Heisman Trophy hopeful and Baylor could surprise here. Not likely, but OSU's level of competition is beginning to step up every week in what will be a difficult stretch to end the season.

Oklahoma @ Kansas State - 2:30pm CT
This is the major match-up of the day and all eyes will be on the coaches. If Oklahoma loses, then Bob Stoops has lost two in a row and must figure out what went wrong with a good chance at the national championship in front of him. For Kansas State, this could be Bill Snyder's best coaching job yet and he could make a believer out of every one in KSU if he can pull this off. Both defenses are the top two scoring defenses in the Big 12, so that should make it interesting on both sides of the ball.

Iowa State @ Texas Tech - 6pm CT
The classic trap game after Texas Tech's big win last week. Seth Doege should be able to pick apart the Cyclones for some major stats, but it's also a big scary coming off of such a big win against the Sooners and seeing what looks like the conference cupcake on your schedule. As for Iowa State, they're still looking for their first conference win.

Kansas @ Texas - 6pm CT
Kansas is the worst team in the conference. Texas could have been a major force, but a two-game losing streak certainly took the wind out of their sails. They had a bye week to catch their breath and refocus and now get the Jayhawks to beat up on. The Jayhawks are 1-18 in their last 19 Big 12 games, and this certainly won't be win No. 2.
