Two of the most storied programs in college basketball are going head to head in the semifinals of the Maui Invitational where Kansas leads UCLA 43-26 at halftime.
Kansas jumped out to a 14-2 start and cruised to the big lead at halftime behind 13 first half points from Elijah Johnson. Thomas Robinson and Tyshawn Taylor both finished the first half with seven points each. The Jayhawks made half of their field goal attempts in the first half and are 5-9 from beyond-the-arc.
UCLA's early season struggles continue as the Bruins had more turnovers (11) in the first half that made baskets (6). Tyler Lamb leads UCLA with eight points and Lazeric Jones and Reeves Nelson each have six. The Kansas' defense held the Bruins to just 27 percent shooting in the first half.
