The Jayhawks are done with mega out-of-conference games and back home in Allen Fieldhouse - until they play Ohio State December 10, who thumped a Duke team that beat KU in Maui last week. Before Kansas plays yet another major game before Christmas, they'll get three warm ups, starting tonight with Florida Atlantic, followed by USF and Long Beach State.
The lack of a Top 10 opponent and a homsetand for a few games will give Kansas a chance to focus on their to-do list, namely finding quality minutes from their bench. Head coach Bill Self told the KC Star that development of depth is a concern early, as the Jayhawks starters all went over 30 minutes against Duke:
“We’re just playing our starters entirely too many minutes, especially Thomas (Robinson) and Tyshawn (Taylor),” Self said. “We’ve got to get Naadir (Tharpe) and Kevin (Young) to be able to give you some minutes off the bench.”
