The Kansas Jayhawks finally got to an easier portion in the schedule after playing some of the best teams in the country and Florida Atlantic felt the talent differential with KU rolling to a fairly easy 77-54 win last night. The Jayhawks looked sloppy and almost seemed to play down to the level of their competition, but it was still clear that KU simply had too much talent.
Thomas Robinson led the way for the Jayhawks with a tremendous showing of low-post moves and a final line of 19 points, 17 boards and 4 blocks. Tyshawn Taylor had 18 points and 3 rebounds, while Travis Releford had 11 points. Jeff Withey added 10.
The Jayhawks shot 44 percent from the field in the game but out shot Florida Atlantic from the free throw line by a wide margin going 25-33 in the game. The Jayhawks blocked 13 shots but committed 17 turnovers in the game.
Pablo Bertone led the way for Florida Atlantic with 17 points and 12 rebounds. Dennis Mavin also finished with 17 points for the Owls who fall to 3-5 on the season.
