Notre Dame Transfer Dayne Crist Chooses The Jayhawks

After a whirlwind recruiting process between several schools, including Kansas, Wisconsin and Delaware, former Notre Dame QB Dayne Crist agreed to sign with the Jayhawks on Thursday:

 Dayne Crist
After a long & difficult decision making process, I'm incredibly excited to join the Kansas football team. Rock Chalk Jayhawk!

Crist, a five-star recruit coming out of high school in Southern California, was one of new Kansas coach Charlie Weis' last recruits at Notre Dame.

A 6'4 235 pro-style QB, he was the Fighting Irish's starting QB in 2010 before injuring his knee and was the opening day starter in 2011 before being benched at half-time of the team's first game.

In three seasons in South Bend, Crist completed 58.9% of his passes for 2,327 yards, 16 TD's and 9 INT's.

He'll have one season of eligibility at Lawrence, where he'll be one of the most highly-touted QB's in school history, with Jayhawk fans undoubtedly hoping he'll have a season similar to the one NC State transfer Russell Wilson had at Wisconsin this year.

Weis' ability to get players like Crist on campus is a positive sign tor a program looking to rebound from hitting absolute rock bottom under Turner Gill for the last two seasons.
