The Kansas State Wildcats weren't supposed to be hanging with the Kansas Jayhawks in this game. But, at halftime, there they are up 11 points on the new No. 1 team in the country. The Wildcats lead the Jayhawks, 42-33, at halftime.
K-State is leading thanks to a monster first half from Jacob Pullen who has 23 points on 6-of-11 shooting including 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. Pullen also has a pair of rebounds, three assists and two steals. He's on fire early in this game.
Marcus Morris has eight halftime points for Kansas and Tyrel Reed has added eight points hitting on all three field goals he's attempted.
Kansas is simply making mistakes in this game. They've turned the ball over 13 times compared to K-State's seven teams. Kansas is the most efficient offense in the country but they're not playing like it tonight.
Kansas is without Thomas Robinson, who is out with injury. With Kansas struggling to get any momentum, the loss of him may be hurting.
This thing's not over, though. There's a reason both polls placed Kansas atop the rankings this week. They're the best team in the country -- for the moment -- so we'll see if they finish like they are.
