Would Anything Surprise You About Kansas State Basketball?

The Kansas State Wildcats are arguably the most disappointing team in the country this year. They were a preseason top three teams, picked to have the conference player of the year, a preseason All-American and to win the Big 12. They had a lot of things going for them and now...it's pretty disappointing

However, Kansas State basketball does have reason to be happy these days considering they beat Kansas on Monday night, the No. 1 team in the country (and they're selling DVDs to prove it).

So either K-State is the most disappointing team in the country or they have one of the bigger upsets this year. It's nearly impossible to figure this team out.

SB Nation's Big 12 Hoops blog weighed in on the question of whether anything would surprise you with Kansas State basketball at this point.

Is it too mean to say "they make the NCAA Tournament"?

After defeating KU, nothing would surprise me. It's like Charlie Sheen. There really isn't much he could do right now that would make me stop in my tracks. Same with K-State. It's either "oh look, they lost another player." Or "oh look, they won the NCAA championship"

My first thought is nothing really would surprise me but I guess I will go out on a limb and say that I would be surprised if they drop their next game at home vs Oklahoma.

Ah, a Charlie Sheen reference. That's a good way to put it. Kansas State is either losing three players throughout the year and entering a tailspin or they're beating the No. 1 team in the country. I have to say I agree with that assessment.

We've tried to figure out all year when K-State has hit rock bottom and they'll make a climb back to relevance in 2011. The first step was beating Kansas. The second step involves making the NCAA tournament and creating some noise.
