NCAA Basketball Rankings: Duke No. 1, Kansas No. 2 In Coaches' Poll

The Kansas Jayhawks held the top spot in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' poll for one week. The latest NCAA basketball rankings are out and KU basketball is ranked No. 2 behind the No. 1 Duke Blue Devils. Ohio State is No. 3, San Diego State is No. 4, Texas is No. 5 and Pittsburgh is No. 6.

Last week the top six in the Coaches' poll went like this: Kansas, Texas, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Duke and San Diego State.  Last week, the four top teams lost a game. KU lost to Kansas State on Monday, followed by Texas dropping a game in Lincoln to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Pittsburgh lost to St. John's while Ohio State dropped a Sunday game to Purdue.

Duke, Kansas and Ohio State sport identical 25-2 records, while San Diego State is 27-1, Texas is 23-4 and Pittsburgh is 24-3.

Duke received 19 first-place votes, Kansas had one, Ohio State had four, San Diego State had three, Texas had zero and Pittsburgh had four.

Kansas has a chance to run the table and if they do there will be a couple of more good wins in there. It plays Texas A&M and Missouri (in Columbia) to finish out the season. The Jayhawks host Oklahoma State on Monday night.

Here are the complete NCAA basketball rankings. While we wait for the AP poll to be released, see what KU fans are saying about the news at Rock Chalk Talk.
