The Kansas were 18-point favorites over the Oklahoma State Cowboys and they did Vegas better beating them 92-65 in Allen Fieldhouse on Monday night. KU basketball was playing without Tyshawn Taylor after Bill Self announced he was suspended indefinitely for violating team rules so there was a slight concern on how they'd respond.
I said that, depending on how long the suspension is for, Josh Selby stands with the most to gain. After one game, I was wrong. Elijah Johnson scored 15 points in 30 minutes of action while Selby added seven points in 20 minutes.
"I think I did well. There are still some things that I need to improve on. I went 3-3 on turnovers and assists but I think it definitely could have been better than that. I threw the ball away two times on force. I felt like that could have been four more points right there."
Johnson was 4-of-4 from beyond the arc and had three rebounds and three assists. He played well and was hitting his shots. If Kansas get this type of effort ouf of him for each game, they'll be okay with Taylor out.
