If there's one person on the Kansas Jayhawks basketball team that can relate to Tyshawn Taylor, who was suspended indefinitely last week by head coach Bill Self, it's Mario Little. That's because he knows what he's going through, at least with the suspension.
Little was arrested and suspended "indefinitely" earlier this season as well. His story, though, went public, which was probably embarrassing to everyone involved. The reasons for Taylor's suspension has been kept quiet and we're not sure exactly what he's done.
Little said he spoke with Taylor this week about coming back from the suspension, according to Gary Bedore of Lawrence Journal-World.
"I told him, ‘Keep your head up and maybe you can turn this into a positive. Maybe take things a little more serious. Nothing is guaranteed,''' Little said.
Let's hope Taylor turns it into a positive. KU is talented enough that even a few missed games can cause KU to move on. The thing about KU is that they have options to replace Taylor, and it's not that much of a drop-off. So you really have to work to turn this into a positive.
